Puppets and Instructions

This week Ash class have been following instructions to make stick puppets.
We carefully drew our characters onto card. We chose to draw characters from Roald Dahl’s ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’. Then we coloured them in and cut them out carefully.
Then the fun part – we glued wool on for the hair and then we carefully glued on a wooden stick onto the back. We are now working on writing the instructions for how to make your own puppet in our English lessons this week.

Baking Lemon Short bread

Last week as part of our topic: Muck Mess and Mixtures we made some delicious lemon shortbread.
Ash class had a great time! We rubbed in the butter and flour, then we mixed in the lemon juice and zest and sugar to turn it into a dough. After dividing the dough we rolled them into a ball before flattening them into a round shape. Then we baked them until they were golden brown.

Ash class says:
Peyton: "I liked making it into a dough."
Millen: "My favourite part was rubbing the butter and flour together."
Raed: "I liked making the biscuit shape."
MAry" My favourite part was flattening the dough to make biscuits."
